A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family, 

Our vision is to lift our city and the world by generously giving the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was recently at a Christmas party when one of our members mentioned to me that they loved the fact that the word “generous” is in our vision statement. He reflected on how necessary this is in our day and time and the call for believers to be generous.

Well, we have two special testimonies that I want to highlight this week that are perfect examples of generosity. The first is Kevin and Julissa Chappell, who first attended our CityRise West U Baptist campus, then felt called to go to CityRise Missouri City to share the love and good news of Jesus.

The second is Tim and Robin Phillips, who found our CityRise Bellaire campus in the midst of a storm in their life. The community that overflowed to them changed them, and they share that story below.

Thank you for modeling a generous spirit, with your time, talent, treasure, and touch. As you prepare for a year end gift, please consider your church family as a place to deploy that gift. We will do our best to steward it well, that we might see more people come into the kingdom!
