A Note from Pastor Roger

Thank you for your prayers recently as CityRise has traveled around the globe to (or are currently serving in) places like South Africa, Ireland, the Dominican Republic, and London—and that’s just been the last two weeks! Summers are major mission seasons, and it’s truly a joy to see you all, from kids to older adults, serving globally and lifting the world by generously giving the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Lifting the world through Christ is essential for us to do in our hometown, too, even down to our own lives. Earlier this year, we introduced you to the Lifted Life, a pathway of discipleship that is fully surrendered, fully empowered, and fully sent by Jesus’s love. This Sunday, we will expand upon this journey and the different “lifts” that are a part of it: the lifts of worship, community, serving, and deeper discipling.

I’m excited to encourage you through this series. Remembering the lifted life we’re called to experience will be important as we return to school-year schedules in a few weeks. Bookmark the Lifted Life page for helpful questionnaires, sermon replays, and a calendar of classes and opportunities to help you strive toward the lifted life God desires for His children.

With summer winding down, last week saw one of our favorite end-of-summer activities in our Kids ministry: Pine Cove City! Our West U Baptist campus was filled with kids from our church family and the neighboring communities, screaming out cheers, playing hard, getting soaked, and learning about God’s Word, all led by some amazing counselors from Pine Cove. I hope your kids had as much fun as we did hearing them from our offices! (Enjoy some pictures below!)
