A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family,
I’m happy to have begun our latest series, “Still Standing,” which started this past Sunday. Despite life constantly moving us forward and continually packing our schedules, oftentimes we can feel like we’re just waiting. Waiting on others, waiting on something to end, waiting on change to come. Waiting can be hard. But God does so much during these waiting seasons, things we might not see, to prepare us for His plans. You can watch or catch up on this series on our Sermons page as we study the importance of being still and waiting on Him.
During this series, we also have a digital devotional called Be Still written by our CityRise staff. If you’ve downloaded the CityRise App, you’ll have easy access and receive notifications to remind you. I know you’ll be blessed by these brief, daily words of encouragement and Scripture throughout the Still Standing series!

Sometimes God tells us to be still, and sometimes He tells us to go! On Sunday, February 23, we will host one of our largest, most popular annual events: Dinner & Deploy. Each year, we gather representatives from local non-profit organizations and international missions partners to showcase the many ways you can be deployed within our city and throughout the world to share the gospel of Jesus Christ for the year. Are you hungry to serve on mission overseas or just down the road? We’ll feed that hunger and even your appetite with a free dinner. The deadline to register is Monday, February 17, so don’t delay to save your spot at Dinner & Deploy!
Before I sign off on this note, I want to tell my valentine how much I love her. Julee P, you make the world a better place. Thanks for loving me and our family so well, as well as the people of our sweet church. I’m more in love with you today than I have ever been! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Expectant,
Pastor Roger
