A Note from Pastor Kirby

Dear Church Family,
Please continue to pray for our teams on mission around the world. As you read this, Pastors Roger, Rynie, Aaron, and Mark are wrapping up a South Africa mission trip along with David Glenn, plus we have a group of students headed out to Ireland on July 18. May many come to Christ as a result of these faithful missionaries, and we pray that those who work in these regions year-round will be highly encouraged and blessed by God’s favor.
By now, you know there are multiple ways to get to CityRise digital content—through the CityRise website, through the CityRise app, and in a number of other ways including social media and email. Every week, we livestream services so that you can experience some of them in real time as you travel in case you are not able to attend in person for some other reason. These services are also archived so you can share them with others or even access them later.
Sermon Conversations is one of the other resources we post every week that gets a lot of interaction. We have heard from you how much you enjoy this, and the cool thing is we also hear it from a number of people who aren’t even affiliated with our church! Sermon Conversations is a gathering of the pastors who will be teaching the following Sunday at each of our campuses, talking in depth about the passage that will be taught and sharing insights from those texts. It is informal, informative, and there's usually some fun thrown in with the back and forth.
Interested? Check out the Sermon Conversations playlist on our site or on YouTube! This is such a great tool whether you view it before that week’s worship service or after. It helps increase understanding and can help broaden your perspective on the topic by hearing from multiple teaching pastors.
I have learned so much from these conversations as we’ve interacted over the content. It is quite useful as each pastor prepares their own sermons, and you will find that it is great preparation for you as well.

Our hearts continue to ache with those who have experienced loss and grief as a result of the Texas Hill Country flooding. If you feel led to help in some way, financially or even lending a hand, please see the links and information Pastor Roger shared on Monday, July 7 and Thursday, July 10. Through our experience here in Houston, this road to recovery will be long, but there is much that can be done to bring relief and comfort.
I pray you have a good weekend, Church Family. There are only a few weeks until school starts, but summer at CityRise is still going strong! During your last stretch of summer plans, remember to stay in touch with the current sermon series, as well as with other CityRise ministries and activities for all ages all in one place: cityrise.org/summer.
Stay Expectant!
