A Note from Pastor Roger
Dear Church Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you will have a chance to spend some time with those you love the most. As we step into Thanksgiving Day celebrations, do not forget to spend some time with the One who loves you most, the Lord Jesus. In the book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul is giving thanks for the church at Ephesus. In my journal this week, I too have given thanks for the church we call CityRise, spread out across our city, serving our Lord Jesus. Here is what Paul prayed for them. It is what I have been praying for each of you this week.
Ephesians 1:15-19
15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might…"
I have been praying that we would know our Lord even more intimately than we do today. I have been praying that we would have more wisdom and revelation from His Spirit, that we would see more clearly, that we would possess even more hope, and we could understand our inheritance. He is a powerful God who spared no expense to win us. His generosity is overwhelming!
I pray that you would ponder the generosity of God toward you today, and that your thankfulness would overflow to Him.
Happy Thanksgiving!
