A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family,
I pray that our Lifted Life series has been elevating your walk with Christ! All month we’ve been reminded that discipleship isn’t a solo journey. We are called to worship together, grow together, serve together, and this Sunday we’ll discover what it means to be disciples together through The Lift of Discipleship.
Back in The Lift of Community, we saw that God calls us to more than attending a class once a week. (If you’d like more information on our Community Groups, click here.) The deepest growth comes when we live out God’s Word in relationship with others. But discipleship doesn’t stop there—it goes even further!
Consider the Apostle Paul. While he wrote letters to entire church families in major cities, he also wrote personally to Timothy, a younger believer he mentored and guided. Paul poured into Timothy’s life, encouraging him and equipping him to carry the gospel forward. Their relationship shows us a powerful truth: some of our most life-changing growth happens in smaller, intentional settings.
Would you like to be poured into like Timothy? Or do you feel God nudging you to step up as a Paul for someone else? As part of The Lift of Discipleship, we are launching Lift Groups, small groups designed for deeper growth, accountability, and encouragement in following Jesus together. Whether you’re interested in joining or leading, we’d love to walk with you. Simply complete our Lift Groups Interest Form, and we’ll help you take the next step toward a more intentional life of discipleship.
And don’t forget that our Wednesday night programming kicks off in just a couple of weeks on September 3! Visit cityrise.org/wednesdays to register for kids’ and adults’ classes as we step into an exciting new fall season.
May we each find our Paul, our Timothy, and our place in God’s plan of discipleship.
Stay Expectant,
Pastor Roger
