July 11, 2024 Update from Pastor Roger
I want to ask you to pray for our city as many of our neighbors and friends will enter into their fourth night lacking power, which is a miserable experience. Each of us knows someone who is still without power. Would you pray for them by name and ask the Lord to help get their power restored? Take a moment to send them a note letting them know that you have prayed for them. Pray also for the many line workers who are away from their families working around the clock to get power restored. Pray that they would be protected, have energy, and that they would have the wisdom to repair the power lines of our great city.
I’m also asking you to pray specifically for our Bellaire campus. It still lacks power, and many are asking about our plan for worship on Sunday, July 14. This Sunday was also to be the opening day for the new building. We had some key inspections scheduled for this week that have been postponed. Our wonderful fire marshal has told us that if we have power by noon tomorrow, Friday, July 12, he will send an inspector to test the systems that must be in place before we can proceed in using the building. These two fire panels, the fire suppression system, and all the other aspects of life safety are critical to our ability to inhabit that building. Please pray that we would have power restored to our Bellaire campus by noon tomorrow, Friday, July 12, that we would get access to an inspector tomorrow, that we would pass the inspection and that there would be no damage to our new systems when the power is restored.
As you can see, we have a few steps before we can occupy the buildings at our Bellaire campus this weekend. We will be sending an additional email as early as tomorrow afternoon or as late as Saturday morning to let you know how we will proceed this weekend regarding worship at Bellaire. Campus Pastor Chris DeArman and the team at CityRise Bellaire have done a great job to get us ready. Now, we need the Lord to move these mountains.
Again, please pray for our city, our neighbors, and our church. May our Lord bless and keep you and yours!
Expectant,
Pastor Roger
