A Note from Pastor Roger
Dear Church Family,
As we emerge from Beryl’s backlash, we know that there are still Houstonians waiting for power to be restored. If that is you, and if there is something the church can do to be of assistance, please contact us at missions@cityrise.org to let us know. Hopefully, everyone will be back up and running today or tomorrow.
Please allow me to share two exciting updates regarding A Children’s Village Preschool!

A Children’s Village Preschool Bellaire Open House – Tonight, July 18
Tonight, from 6–8pm, we are hosting an Open House at our newly remodeled Bellaire campus for A Children’s Village at 4601 Bellaire Blvd. In addition to attending the Open House, please also check out the Facebook Event to mark yourself as attending and consider sharing the Facebook event with your friends. We are so excited about the future of this brand new extension of ACV opening for the first time this fall and can’t wait to involve many new families.
Welcome New ACV Preschool West U Baptist Director, Erika Roberts
Erika Roberts, (far left in the picture alongside her family) is a Houston local with over twenty years of experience in early childhood education and leadership. She joined our team this week as the Director of our ACV West U Baptist program. She is married to Maurice; they have two children (daughter Marley and son Reese), and a son-in-law (Jack).
Erika holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater and Television from Texas Christian University and a Master’s in Innovative Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado at Denver. She began her teaching career working with children as an acting instructor, then transitioned into a career in Early Childhood Education working as a teacher of two-year olds and then in Preschool Administration. She has a great deal of experience as the large group and special events coordinator at a local church. Erika is passionate about educating our youngest learners by creating spaces for the children to thrive, grow, and express themselves. She is particularly excited about creating an environment where they consistently learn about Jesus and where they and their families will be connected to the life of our church as they enter this ministry.
We could not be more excited about the plans for growth and expansion in ACV and for Erika’s leadership in the ACV program at West U Baptist! Please join us tonight to see our beautifully renovated Bellaire building and learn more.
