A Note from Pastor Roger

Good afternoon, Church Family!

Part Three of Flourishing Family is this Sunday! If you are unable to join us in person, you’re welcome to be with us online during one of our livestreamed services through our CityRise app, on our livestreams page, or at youtube.com/cityriseorg.

You might notice this email arriving later than usual. That's because we had a fantastic day at our third annual CityRise Network Leadership Conference. We gathered with over 150 leaders of non-profit organizations and churches so that we could be lifted, encouraged, and inspired together. Each year, we invite our city-reaching partners to come and be filled, that they might be sent back out knowing that they are a part of something greater. 

I want to thank CityRise Network Director and Missouri City Campus Pastor Mark Edworthy, Assistant to Missions Ministry Emily Dobbs, and our staff for being gracious hosts today. We are lifting our city together! 

It was an exciting day today, and I'm (already) excited about some days next month. Make sure you mark these dates in October! 

• Sunday, October 22: Dr. William Lane Craig will join me during our West U Baptist services. Dr. Craig is one of the leading voices in apologetics, and our friends at Houston Christian University are making him available to us that morning. 

• Monday, October 23 (off-campus): John Lennox, Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University, and another leading Christian apologetic voice will join Dr. Jim Tour at Rice University's Keck Hall to speak to students, faculty, and the public on topics of science and faith.

• Tuesday, October 24: Dr. Lennox will then come over to our West U Baptist campus, and a panel of pastors and leaders in our city will engage with him on some of the most pressing issues today.

Please be in prayer for these significant discussions and moments in our church. I'll see you on Sunday, Church Family!
