A Note from Pastor Roger

Good afternoon, Church Family!
I hope your summer is ending on a high note as we all transition into the next season of the year. "Season" meaning less about the weather—since Houston basically remains hot through Christmas—and more about the change from relaxed schedules to routine ones. And isn't it always nice to get back into a routine after a while?
But Sundays are never just routine for us Christians. Each week is a new opportunity to worship our Father, learn something new from His Word, and prepare for the week ahead that our God has already seen. If you are unable to join us in person, you’re welcome to be with us online during one of our livestreamed services through our CityRise app, on our livestreams page, or at youtube.com/cityriseorg.

Vision & Celebration Sunday, This Sunday!
We have something special for you this weekend across CityRise. We are excited to provide for you a vision update as we approach the fall. All services are going to be full of exciting updates and encouraging testimonies of the Lord's handiwork in and through us.
You don't want to miss it! It's going to look different, so don't be late either! I hope you make plans to attend a CityRise campus this Sunday, August 27 for Vision & Celebration Sunday.

Sight Recap & Skeptics Night Reminder
This past Sunday night at West U Baptist (as part of our August Apologetics series) we showed the move Sight before it goes to theaters in a couple of months. The attendance was astounding. Approximately 750 people came, many of whom were international students and visitors to West U Baptist! Many thanks to our volunteers and staff who helped make the night accommodating as we had to move people into overflow seating. The gospel was clearly shared, and everyone was given an opportunity to place their faith in Jesus. What a wonderful night it was!
Remember that our next and final weekend of August Apologetics is this Sunday and Monday with special guest Abdu Murray of Embrace the Truth!
No registration is required. Anyone is welcome to attend either night, so make an effort to attend and bring someone along, especially someone who needs to hear the truth about Christ.

- Sunday, August 27 will be a night of evangelical training from 4-6pm
- Monday, August 28 will be an open forum called "Skeptics Night," open to any questions.
No registration is required. Anyone is welcome to attend either night, so make an effort to attend and bring someone along, especially someone who needs to hear the truth about Christ.
Wednesday Nights at CityRise
Lastly, the return of routines means that Wednesday nights are coming back to CityRise for our children and students! We want our younger generations, from Pre-K to high school seniors, to enjoy gathering together and learning even more about the importance of faith in Jesus with each other outside of Sunday mornings.
