A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family,
In addition to being your pastor, one of my greatest joys is gathering with leaders from around the city. I love connecting with people from local ministries and non-profits who have a heart to be Jesus to the hundreds of communities around Houston—leaders who want to generously give the gospel of Christ. Their missions vary, but a rising tide lifts all boats. When I see these pioneers laying the path, walking in the Spirit, and working alongside each other, I get energized. That's why I love our annual leadership conference here at CityRise!
Last Thursday, our Bellaire campus saw over 100 people (representing nearly 40 organizations) attend "The Spiritual Leader" conference. We worshiped, networked, ate lunch, and heard from several local organizations during breakout sessions. To top it off, we were blessed with keynotes from four outstanding speakers: Stephen Smith (CEO and Lead Strategist of Aerable), our own Dr. Mark Edworthy (CityRise Missouri City campus pastor & CityRise Network Director), Dr. Louis Blom (President of Judea Harvest), and Dr. Darrin Moore (Pastor of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church).
It was a true joy to be present at the conference. I'd like to thank Pastor Mark Edworthy, Amy Cormier, and our CityRise staff for another successful event. I hope to see you in attendance next year! (Enjoy some photos at the bottom of the email.)

Speaking of Pastor Mark, he and a group of site-seers have traveled to Greece to follow in the footsteps of the apostle Paul in places such as Athens, Corinth, and Philippi. Please pray for a transformative trip and safe travels for the entire group.
And to echo last week, please continue to pray for our nation. God is not too big or too small, and neither is He distant nor overwhelmed. In fact, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)
I pray you have a good weekend, Church Family. We'll see you on Sunday for the next part of our "Can I Still Experience God?" series.
Expecting Greater,
Pastor Roger
