Licensing
A Children’s Village is licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services (THHS) under the name A Children’s Village and exceeds their required minimum standards for safety, sanitation, operation, and personnel qualifications and training.

About ACV
A Children’s Village has been serving the families in the community since 1985. Our program is offered to children from ages 1-5 years old (by September 1st of the current year). There are options for your child to attend two days a week (T/TH), three days a week (MWF) or all five days (M-F). The school day runs from Monday through Friday beginning at 9:00a and ending at 2:00p. (See "After-School Enrichments (2-4p)” for extended-day options.)

Curricula
FunShine Express and Mother Goose Time are two popular programs used in many preschools all over the nation. They are aligned to Texas State Standards and focus on developing your child’s social and emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Daily faith-based lessons are taught in conjunction with each month’s thematic units. FunShine Express offers two curricula differentiated by age groups: the Buttercups curriculum is used by our Chicks (12-17 months) through our Pandas (2.5 years old) classes; the Fireflies curriculum is used by our Frogs and Cubs classes. All three of our Pre-K 4 classes use Mother Goose Time curriculum, which engages children in many STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities.
Music
Wednesdays for all classes
Our weekly music class engages students in physical and cognitive activities through music, singing, and dance.

Spanish

Children are introduced to the foundations of the Spanish language through play, songs, read alouds, and hands-on activities. They are taught Spanish words and phrases for numbers, colors, actions, greetings, and much more!

Science
Tuesdays // Frogs-Owls | Thursdays // Butterflies-Pandas
Children observe, engage, explore, and experiment with different tools (e.g. magnifying glass, scale, wind vane, etc.) like real scientists! They watch physical changes in matter (solid to liquid), learn vocabulary words associated with the theme, and sometimes eat their own edible creations!
Stay & Play

Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee is made up of a group of six+ parents who will work with a chairperson to implement fundraising projects. The main project will be a school-wide carnival to raise money for classroom equipment and teacher education. Committee members will plan the events throughout the year.

Office Volunteer Committee
Sign up to help in the office during special events throughout the school year, such as individual and class picture days, public registration day, etc.

Service Project Committee
This committee consists of two coordinators and four members who will arrange two service projects per year. Each service project will focus on interacting with others, building relationships, and incorporating children and parents to serve others. Examples: Reverse trick or treating with a costume parade at a retirement community; putting together meal bags during the holiday season; community toy drive.

Teacher Appreciation Dinner
This committee is made up of ten parents who will work with the chairpersons to draft and send invitations to the ACV staff, decorate the day of the dinner, and host the event. They will also help coordinate food provided by other parents. The Teacher Appreciation Dinner is usually scheduled for early May.

Classroom Parent
Each classroom will have a classroom parent and a co-parent who will oversee communicating class news to the other parents via email. These parents will also help coordinate school parties, support school events, and encourage others to volunteer when needed.
