A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family,
We’re already halfway through our Lifted Life series! Our prayer for this journey has been to give you a clear and intentional pathway to discipleship, one that truly transforms your walk with Jesus.
In the first two weeks, we explored the Lifts of Worship and Community. What comes next? When you’re worshiping God and walking alongside other believers, something happens—you begin to feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit to go deeper. One of the most powerful ways to respond is through The Lift of Serving.
The world says independence is the key to strength and success, to make a name for yourself, rely on no one. But Jesus came to show us the opposite: “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). He taught humility, that “the last will be first, and the first will be last” (Matthew 20:16).
God designed each of us with unique gifts—skills, talents, and passions—that are not just for personal use, but for the building up of His church. Just as our human body is made of many parts working together toward one purpose, so is the church. We’ll explore this truth in 1 Corinthians 12 this Sunday as Paul paints a picture of how each of us plays a vital role in God’s Kingdom work.
At CityRise, there are countless ways to step into service such as joining a mission trip, serving in local outreach, or helping in a ministry on Sundays. Serving not only blesses others but grows you in your faith and deepens your connection to the body of Christ.
In addition, we’re excited to connect Lifted Life with Discipleship U—a variety of weekly gatherings and Bible studies designed to help you grow in your faith alongside others. Whether you’re new to CityRise or have been here for years, these classes are a great way to go deeper in your walk with Jesus.
If you’re ready to find your place, take a moment to fill out our CityRise Serve Interest Form, and we’ll help connect your passions with opportunities to make a difference. You can also visit cityrise.org/liftedlife to catch past messages and explore other ways to live the Lifted Life.
Looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday as we discover The Lift of Serving together!
Stay Expectant,
Pastor Roger
