A Note from Pastor Roger

Dear Church Family,
This week at CityRise, we were right in the middle of two of the biggest events of our summer!
At our West U Baptist campus, over 330 elementary children and more than 100 dedicated volunteers gathered each day for VBS Magnified! Through music, drama, Bible memory, and small group conversations, these children heard the gospel clearly and personally. On Wednesday, every grade had the opportunity to respond to Christ’s invitation for salvation—what a moment! Please keep praying as we finish strong!
But the joy of VBS isn’t over yet—there’s more to come, both here in Houston and beyond! From June 23–27, our Missouri City campus will host its own Magnified! VBS, and this weekend, missions teams will head to Honduras and Guatemala to bring VBS to children and families there. What an incredible opportunity to share the love of Christ across cultures and borders. Pray for open hearts, receptive ears, and joyful moments as these teams spread the gospel through the fun and faith-filled experience of VBS.
Meanwhile, at CityRise Bellaire, our VBX for middle school students was just as powerful. With 172 students in attendance, this week was filled with joyful worship, active recreation, and deep connection through God's Word. Pray for lasting transformation in these young lives.
We’re so grateful for our incredible Kids and Students teams whose months of preparation made these events truly unforgettable. And we couldn’t have done it without the faithful volunteers who showed up in the weeks before—decorating, organizing, and praying behind the scenes. From high school students to moms, dads, grandparents, and anyone with a heart to serve—you helped make this week smooth, meaningful, and full of joy. Thank you!
Enjoy some of these fun moments we got to capture!

This Sunday, we’ll continue the celebration with special VBS and VBX highlights, continue our summer series in Matthew, and take a moment to honor all the fathers and father figures in our lives. It’s a Sunday you won’t want to miss.
Let’s keep lifting our children, students, and leaders in prayer—and may God continue to move powerfully in and through our church this summer!
Stay expectant,
Pastor Roger
